Our Event Ambassadors mainly work independently at venues (pre-booked by our in-house team) alongside supporting our Events team at larger in-house events (such as our Heritage Festival, Awenek). Venues typically include farmer’s markets, historical sites and shows/events. If you have fundraising/sales experience, an outgoing personality and an interest in Cornish history, then we would love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities * Recruit new members of the Cornwall Heritage Trust, selling merchandise, engaging with attendees, accepting and facilitating donations. * Attend pre-booked venues/events and set up materials (this can include setting up gazebos and displays, to sharing historic handling objects) * Complete all relevant paperwork, reports and timesheets in an accurate and timely manner in line with management requirements, including the use of IT. * Represent Cornwall Heritage Trust in a professional and informed manner at all times, whether engaging with members of the public, venues, Trust staff, volunteers or any other supporters. * Comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to ensure the privacy of individuals. * Follow and implement the Institute of Fundraising (IoF) guidelines. * Relay any feedback received from the public, supporters, or members to the Membership Manager in a timely manner. * Ensure Health and Safety obligations laid out in the Health and Safety Policy are met across the breadth of office and field/venue-based activity, being aware and adaptable to Risk Assessments. Other information * The nature of the role will require working weekends (inclusive of Sundays), Bank Holidays, and some evenings. * Event Ambassadors will need to provide their own means of reaching agreed work sites with all necessary equipment. * This role does involve a certain amount of heavy lifting- packing for events, setting up gazebos, etc. * Guaranteed living wage of £13.45, this is not a commission-only job. * All new starters receive one day of paid induction training at our office and a further two days of paid on-site training at venues. Person Specification * Education & Qualifications Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or 5 in English and Maths * Knowledge & Experience Experience in similar role or low-pressure sales role * An interest in Cornish History * Experience using basic technology (using EPOS systems, touch-screens and mobile devices) * Excellent communication skills – written and verbal * Confidence to approach and build rapport with members of the public * Personal Qualities Self-motivated and able to work independently * Quick learner with a positive attitude * Strong team player * Flexible and adaptable – willing to try new things * Other Full UK driving licence and access to a car What We’re Looking For * Enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organisational.
