Design & Technology (DT) Teacher - Forward-Thinking Secondary School in Plymouth Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time or Part-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale Design & Technology Teacher A forward-thinking Secondary School in Plymouth is seeking a professional and highly organised Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join their experienced academic team. This flexible role is open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where teaching staff play an essential role in the smooth operation of the school. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages, specializing in workshop safety, material properties, and design engineering. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of practical workshop sessions, safety orientations, and design showcases. You will also support communication with parents, students, and external agencies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and highly mindful of safety standards when working both independently and as part of a collaborative academic staff team. Good IT skills and confidence using CAD/CAM systems are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
