Job description
Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS, paid to scale An exceptional 11-18 secondary school in Shropshire is seeking a passionate History Teacher to join its well-regarded Humanities faculty. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a teacher who loves the subject and wants to work within a school that takes pride in delivering a rich, thought-provoking history curriculum. The successful candidate will teach History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (OCR), with the opportunity to teach A-level History depending on experience. The department places a strong emphasis on historical source work, debate, and essay-writing skills, and you will be expected to contribute to the design of curriculum resources that push students to think carefully and critically. The role also includes supporting the school's programme of enrichment visits — including trips to key battlefield and heritage sites — and contributing to wider Humanities faculty activities such as the annual Year 9 History Day. School Information This 11-18 school in Shropshire has consistently achieved exceptional outcomes for its students and is recognised within the local authority as one of its highest-performing schools. The Humanities faculty is experienced, collaborative, and known for the quality of its teaching.
