We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic midwife who will work alongside members of the education team at Barts Health.
·The post will be based at Royal London Hospital although the role will also involve supporting and working closely with other PDMs with training programme within 3 maternity sites.
·The post holder will be a part of Barts Health Midwifery team and education faculty and will facilitate the linking of theory to practice; as well as providing a supportive, responsive approach to training and development for the MDT at the Royal London Site.
·The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Midwife for Education and medical colleagues in the development and delivery of a trust wide training and development programme for all Midwifery and Multi-professional teams.
·The post holder will support a range of teaching programmes both in the classroom and clinical area.
·The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise, competency in practice and be a role model.
·The post holder will support the team in meeting the standards as identified by the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), Care Quality Commission, Kings Fund, Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and other professional / regulatory bodies.
Main duties of the job
The Main purpose of the job is to deliver high quality clinical skills training to Midwives and the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of core competency framework / mandatory training, maintaining, and submitting evidence of staff training compliance records as required. The post holder will work in liaison with the Trust Consultant Midwife for Education and the Midwifery Clinical Educator to coordinate, plan the schedule and content of the Programme and then lead in the delivery and assessment of learning within the specialty.

- Educated to Registrant with nursing and Midwifery Council
- Educated to Degree Level.
- Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable criteria
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in acute maternity hospital se at Band 6 Level or 1 year at Band 7 level.
- NLS /PROMPT/Also trainer
- Experience or evidence of involvement in change management and service improvement
- Experience of collaborating with a multi-professional team
- Experience of reflective practice
- Ability to present and teach in classroom setting.
- Experience with teaching in the clinical setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of national and local education / training requirements for MDT within the PDM remit of practice
