About us:
Spectrum.Life is a Mental Health, Wellbeing and Digital Health Innovator supporting over 4,000,000 users across the Corporate, Insurance and Education Sectors. We are a healthcare company first, focused on clinical efficacy and outcomes, delivered by fully accredited professionals through our in-house built technology.

Role Brief:
We are looking for experienced, HCPC-registered Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, or qualified Neurodiversity Practitioners to join our growing network of Associate clinicians. In this role you will deliver high-quality, neuroaffirmative Autism and ADHD identification assessments for children (aged 7+) and adults, as part of a multidisciplinary diagnostic team.

Working on a flexible, self-employed basis, you will contribute to a service committed to transforming access to neurodiversity assessment across the UK, in line with NICE guidelines (NG142, NG228, NG87), DSM-5, and ICD-11 diagnostic frameworks.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, neuroaffirmative Autism and ADHD identification assessments for children (aged 7+) and adults, utilising gold-standard tools including ADOS-2 and ADI-R within a multidisciplinary diagnostic pathway.
  • Conduct initial Neurodiversity Consultations and deliver sensitive, neuroaffirmative feedback sessions, exploring presenting concerns and communicating outcomes in a collaborative and person-centred manner.
  • Complete biopsychosocial and multidisciplinary formulations, identifying and communicating relevant reasonable accommodations across educational, workplace and community settings.
  • Produce high-quality written assessment reports presenting complex clinical information in a clear, accessible and strengths-based manner for individuals, families and professional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with psychologists and fellow MDT colleagues to ensure integrated, person-centred assessment formulations.
  • Undertake risk screening and safeguarding assessments in line with UK legislation and organisational procedures, with particular attention to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous case notes and records in line with HCPC standards and UK GDPR requirements.

Requirements:
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, or an equivalent neurodiversity-focused qualification recognised by HCPC
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body: Occupational Therapists: Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) Speech and Language Therapists: Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
  • Current, valid Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance (minimum £2 million cover)
  • Registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
  • Minimum 2 years post-HCPC registration experience, including neurodiversity assessment experience
  • Formal training and demonstrated competence in ADOS-2 and ADI-R administration and interpretation
  • Experience delivering remote/virtual assessments to children (7+) and/or adults
  • Experience producing comprehensive neurodiversity assessment reports, including recommendations and reasonable accommodations
  • Experience providing post-diagnostic feedback to individuals and families
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary assessment team
  • Strong knowledge of NICE guidelines (NG142, NG228, NG87), DSM-5 and ICD-11 diagnostic criteria relevant to Autism and ADHD
  • Knowledge of co-occurring conditions (e.g. anxiety, learning disabilities, developmental trauma) and their interaction with neurodevelopmental presentations
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and risk frameworks relevant to children, young people and adults in the UK
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and its application to reasonable adjustments
  • Confidence working in an online/digital format
  • Ability to work independently and manage own caseload and administration as a self-employed practitioner

Desirable:
  • Experience assessing combined AuDHD presentations
  • Experience adapting assessments for individuals with co-occurring intellectual disabilities, sensory needs or complex communication profiles
  • Experience of consultation and training on neurodiversity to families, schools or other professionals
  • Experience working across NHS and independent sector pathways

What are the benefits of working at SPECTRUM.LIFE?
  • Flexible, self-employed associate contract with competitive sessional rates
  • Fully remote working
  • The opportunity to work in a neuroaffirmative way and contribute to a meaningful shift in how neurodiversity is understood and supported
  • Access to a welcoming and supportive multidisciplinary team of specialist clinicians
