Job description
Health & Social Care Teacher - Vibrant Secondary School in Leeds Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale Health & Social Care Teacher A vibrant Secondary School in Leeds is seeking a professional and highly organised Health & Social Care Teacher to join their experienced vocational and social sciences team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where teaching staff play an essential role in the smooth operation of the school. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across Key Stages 4 and 5, focusing on human development, public health frameworks, care values, and safeguarding regulations. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the coordination of student work placements, vocational assessment logging, and health awareness campaigns within the school. You will also support communication with parents, students, and external healthcare or community placement providers while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to monitor diverse vocational portfolios and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to bring real-world care principles into the classroom environment while working as part of a collaborative faculty. Good IT skills and confidence using data-tracking software are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
