Job description
Economics Teacher - Highly Acclaimed Academy in Newcastle Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale Economics Teacher A highly acclaimed Secondary Academy in Newcastle is seeking a professional and highly organised Economics Teacher to join their experienced Social Sciences team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where teaching staff play an essential role in the smooth operation of the school. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across Key Stages 4 and 5, specializing in microeconomic theory, macroeconomic policy, market systems, and global financial structures. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of student-led finance forums, investor challenges, and corporate insight schemes. You will also support communication with parents, students, and external professional bodies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to break down complex statistical and financial datasets clearly while working as part of a collaborative academic staff team. Good IT skills and confidence using spreadsheet databases and visual data trackers are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
