\nSalary: £16.27 per hour
\nHours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am to 12:00pm (38.5 hours per week)
\nContract Type: Temporary to permanent
\nThe Role:
\nWe are currently recruiting for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a busy manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the processing and assembly of customer orders, ensuring every product is manufactured to the highest quality standards and exact customer specifications.
\nAs a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for checking materials against production and works orders, using a variety of metalworking machinery and welding equipment to manufacture and assemble products. You will carry out thorough quality checks on your own work before handing completed jobs over for final inspection and undertake any remedial work required.
\nDuties will include using general metalworking equipment, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards, ensuring the correct PPE is worn, and adhering to all health and safety procedures. You will work closely with colleagues as part of a small team, supporting others where required and bringing any quality or safety concerns to the attention of the Team Leader. Specialist equipment such as press brakes and CNC punch/plasma machinery will be operated by trained personnel and are not required for this role.

\nExperience / Skills Required:
\nCity & Guilds Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding or NVQ equivalent is essential
\nPrevious experience within sheet metal work, including light to medium fabrication
\nTIG welding experience is preferred but not essential
\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings
\nKnowledge of general metalworking machinery such as hydraulic metalworkers, MAG drilling equipment, and pillar drills
\nExperience using manual propane cutting equipment is advantageous
\nStrong attention to detail with a commitment to quality standards
\nExperience working to deadlines and under minimal supervision
\nGood communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
\nStrong awareness of health and safety procedures
\nReliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance
\nA minimum of 2 years of experience within a sheet metal role is required for this role
