Job description
Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Part-time (0.6 FTE), Permanent Salary: Paid to scale, pro-rata A forward-thinking 11-18 academy in the West Midlands is seeking a part-time Geography Teacher to join its Humanities faculty. This role would suit a teacher who is interested in exploring how geography can help students understand and engage with the urban environment they live in. You will teach Geography across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 (AQA), with a curriculum that places particular emphasis on urban geography, regeneration, and sustainability, reflecting the school's location. The role includes supporting sixth-form Geography students, contributing to enrichment days that explore local urban issues, and maintaining accurate assessment records. You will also be expected to contribute to department planning meetings and to support whole-school sustainability initiatives where relevant. School Information This 11-18 academy serves a diverse urban community in the West Midlands and has developed a Geography curriculum that deliberately connects to students' lived experience of the city around them. Staff describe a high-performing Humanities faculty that is reflective and forward-thinking, regularly reviewing its curriculum to ensure it remains relevant and engaging. Leadership is described as supportive of staff who bring fresh ideas to curriculum development.
