Put your SEND expertise to work in a school that truly gets it

We're working with a welcoming primary school in Benwell looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to join their dedicated SEND Hub this September.

The Hub supports a small group of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) as their primary need, alongside pupils with Global Developmental Delay. The school has created a nurturing, structured environment where children can access personalised learning and specialist support, helping them build confidence, independence, and positive relationships.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who understands that progress looks different for every child and enjoys adapting learning to help pupils thrive.

The Role

You will:

  • Deliver engaging, highly personalised learning tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with ASC and Global Developmental Delay
  • Create a calm, structured, and communication-friendly learning environment
  • Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, families, and external professionals
  • Use a range of strategies to support communication, social development, and emotional regulation
  • Monitor progress and celebrate every success, big or small

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly ASC
  • Understands the importance of routine, consistency, and relationship-based practice
  • Can adapt lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Is patient, creative, and committed to inclusive education

What the School Offers

  • A supportive leadership team that values SEND provision
  • A well-resourced SEND Hub with a strong focus on inclusion
  • Experienced support staff who work collaboratively
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities
  • A welcoming school community where staff wellbeing matters

Why Work with Protocol Education?

  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Personalised support from a dedicated consultant
  • Opportunities in mainstream, SEND, and alternative provisions
  • Streamlined registration process
  • Referral scheme available
