A thriving secondary academy in Shropshire is looking to appoint a passionate English Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time, permanent position within a school that places reading, oracy, and a love of literature at the heart of its curriculum. About the Role You will teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 English Literature or Language depending on experience. Lessons are designed to build confident, articulate readers and writers who can analyse texts critically and express ideas with clarity. Key Responsibilities Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4 Prepare students for GCSE English examinations, with potential A-Level involvement Plan engaging lessons that develop reading, writing, and oracy skills Support whole-school literacy initiatives Set and mark work in line with departmental assessment policy Contribute to extracurricular activities such as book clubs or debating The School Environment The school has a strong reputation for academic achievement and pastoral care, with a department that works closely together to share resources and ideas.
