Full-Time | Permanent Start: September 2026 Salary: Competitive School Scale The Role Are you a passionate and creative Drama and Dance Teacher looking to inspire students through performance, creativity and self-expression? An outstanding school in Cambridge is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama and Dance Teacher to join its thriving Performing Arts department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful school community that values creativity, academic achievement and the development of the whole student. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive department, delivering engaging lessons that encourage confidence, imagination and a lifelong appreciation of the performing arts. The school offers excellent support for Early Career Teachers alongside opportunities for experienced teachers to continue developing their practice. The successful candidate will: Teach Drama and Dance across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to contribute at Key Stage 5. Plan and deliver inspiring lessons that develop performance skills, creativity and critical thinking. Encourage students to explore performance styles, theatrical techniques and choreographic approaches. Support students of all abilities through inclusive and differentiated teaching strategies. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Drama, Dance or Performing Arts qualifications. Develop students’ confidence in practical performance, collaboration and communication. Contribute to curriculum development and the creation of engaging schemes of work. Support extracurricular opportunities including productions, performances, clubs and enrichment activities. Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback. Contribute positively to the wider pastoral and cultural life of the school. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a candidate who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards QTS. Has a degree in Drama, Dance, Performing Arts or a related discipline. Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the performing arts. Has the ability to inspire students through creative and engaging teaching. Is committed to high standards of achievement, behaviour and participation. Uses innovative teaching approaches to develop confidence and performance skills. Is reflective, enthusiastic and committed to continuous professional development. Works collaboratively within a supportive and successful department. Is keen to contribute to productions, enrichment activities and the wider school community.
