Job description
Design Technology Teacher – Innovative Secondary School in Bradford Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale Design Technology Teacher An innovative Secondary School in Bradford is seeking a creative and committed Design Technology Teacher to join its well-resourced Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a school that values creativity, innovation, and practical learning while supporting students to develop skills that will prepare them for future careers. The successful candidate will teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students in developing practical skills, creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving abilities through a range of design and manufacturing projects. Lessons should inspire students to think critically, work independently, and apply their learning to real-world contexts. You will contribute to curriculum development, ensuring programmes of study remain engaging, relevant, and aligned with current industry practices where appropriate. The role also includes maintaining workshop safety standards, managing equipment and materials effectively, and supporting students in producing high-quality coursework and practical outcomes. The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to extracurricular opportunities, including design competitions, STEM initiatives, and project-based learning activities that enhance students’ experiences beyond the classroom. The school is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic teacher who can build positive relationships with students and colleagues while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement.
