Job description
Position: Spanish Teacher Location: Cambridge Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Spanish Teaching Role in an Independent School An independent school in Cambridge is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join its successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This is a full-time role within a nurturing and academically ambitious school that values languages, cultural awareness, and exceptional teaching. Spanish is a highly regarded subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop fluency, confidence, and cultural understanding through a broad and engaging curriculum. About the Role You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire confidence and linguistic curiosity. Students will develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while studying grammar, translation, literature, and cultural themes linked to the Spanish-speaking world. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations, supporting students in achieving excellent academic outcomes and progression to higher education. You may also have the opportunity to contribute to wider MFL enrichment opportunities, including language clubs, cultural visits, exchange programmes, and international learning experiences. You will work collaboratively within a successful MFL department while benefiting from smaller class sizes, excellent resources, and a strong focus on personalised learning. Key Responsibilities Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver engaging speaking, listening, reading, and writing lessons Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support language enrichment and cultural opportunities Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and achievement The School Environment This independent school in Cambridge provides a supportive and academically ambitious environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
