Job description
Food Technology Teacher - Highly Acclaimed Secondary School in Colchester Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale Food Technology Teacher A highly acclaimed Secondary School in Colchester is seeking a professional and highly organised Food Technology Teacher to join their experienced academic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where teaching staff play an essential role in the smooth operation of the school. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages and assist senior leaders, teaching staff, and wider support teams. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of practical culinary sessions, nutritional science workshops, and school catering exhibitions. You will also support communication with parents, students, and external agencies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and highly organized regarding health and safety protocols both independently and as part of a collaborative academic staff team. Good IT skills and confidence using administrative databases are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
