Our Company

Through its Social Innovation Business that brings together IT, OT(Operational Technology) and products, Hitachi contributes to a harmonized society where the environment, wellbeing, and economic growth are in balance. Hitachi operates globally in four sectors – Digital Systems & Services, Energy, Mobility, and Connective Industries – and the Strategic SIB Business Unit for new growth businesses. With Lumada at its core, Hitachi generates value from integrating data, technology and domain knowledge to solve customer and social challenges. Revenues for FY2024 (ended March 31, 2025) totaled 9,783.3 billion yen, with 618 consolidated subsidiaries and approximately 280,000 employees worldwide. Visit us at

The Hitachi Group has been moving towards realizing One Hitachi HR functions and talent management under its new management policy, Inspire 2027, which began in FY25. This is a very important initiative for improving our corporate value and further growth.

The Talent Management CoE (Centre of Excellence) team at Hitachi support business growth and sustainable competitiveness by continuing to pursue the “right design'' for HR systems, policies, and processes based on expertise and a One Hitachi perspective.

What you’ll be doing

This role is the operational backbone of Hitachi’s global succession pipeline. You will own the end-to-end construction, maintenance, and visualization of the leadership succession pool across all Business Units, turning fragmented talent data into a single, always-current pipeline view that drives executive decision-making. Working closely with BU HR leads, CHROs, and the GLD team, you will design the data architecture, dashboards, and governance cadence that make the succession pipeline transparent, measurable, and actionable—ensuring the right leaders are identified, developed, and ready for critical roles at the right time.

Build the first integrated global succession pipeline dashboard by consolidating BU-level talent data, defining pipeline health KPIs (bench strength ratio, readiness distribution, diversity mix), and delivering pipeline reviews to the CxO forum. Establish a standardized succession slate template and calibration process across all regions

The role will also be responsible for:

Succession Pipeline Construction & Data Architecture

  • Design and maintain the global succession pipeline infrastructure: define data taxonomy, build candidate profiles with readiness scores, and integrate inputs from talent reviews and leadership program outcomes etc into a unified pipeline database.

Pipeline Visualization & Executive Reporting

  • Develop and own real-time succession dashboards that visualize pipeline health by BU, region, role criticality, and diversity dimensions. Deliver data-driven insights to CHROs and the executive committee, translating pipeline metrics into strategic talent investment recommendations.

Pipeline Governance & Calibration Cadence

  • Orchestrate the annual succession calibration cycle: ensure calibration is data-driven and objective, and track movement of succession candidates into target roles.

  • Define and enforce pipeline governance standards—slate coverage targets, time-to-readiness benchmarks, and IDP completion rates—holding BU HR leads accountable for pipeline health and succession velocity.

What you bring to the team

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role will be a mixture of remote-hybrid work with days in the Hitachi Office.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

Experience

  • Succession planning, talent pool management, or workforce analytics in a global or multi-BU environment

  • Building or managing talent/HR dashboards, pipeline databases, or people analytics platforms

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Excel, BI tools, or HR analytics platforms)

  • Business English proficiency

  • Experience with succession planning tools or HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday)

  • Japanese language proficiency is a bonus, but not required

Behaviours / Personal Traits

  • Data-driven mindset with the perseverance to build systems from the ground up

  • Ability to synthesize complex, cross-functional talent data into clear strategic narratives for senior leadership

  • Proactive stakeholder engagement—builds trust across cultures and drives consensus on pipeline priorities

Our Values

We are proud to say we are an equal opportunity employer and welcome all applicants for employment without attention to any factor that doesn’t impact your ability to do the job, including race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. We are proud of Japanese heritage, with our values expressed through the Hitachi Spirit:

Wa – Harmony, Trust, Respect

Makoto – Sincerity, Fairness, Honesty, Integrity

Kaitakusha-Seishin – Pioneering Spirit, Challenge

If, like us, you’re motivated by delivering first class services, thrive in a fast paced and supportive environment and want to help Hitachi to drive social innovation, we’d love to hear from you
