Start your ecology career with ADAS while helping protect British wildlife

Were looking for an Assistant Ecological Consultant to join our growing ecology team working across a variety of project locations based around Leeds.

This role is ideal for those just starting their ecology careers who are looking to develop their skills and pursue a consultancy career. Youll work closely with Senior and Principal Ecologists supporting the delivery of projects while gaining increasing responsibility.

As an Assistant Ecological Consultant at ADAS you will play a key role in delivering field surveys preparing technical reports and supporting project management across a diverse portfolio including infrastructure and development projects.

What youll be doing

  • Undertaking a range of ecological field surveys (including habitat and protected species surveys) supported by colleagues until able to do independently
  • Collecting analysing and interpreting survey data to inform project outcomes
  • Preparing and contributing to technical reports such as PEAs EcIAs and species-specific survey reports
  • Supporting the coordination and delivery of projects ensuring work is completed to programme and budget
  • Liaising with colleagues clients and stakeholders under the guidance of senior staff
  • Ensuring compliance with wildlife legislation policy and best practice guidance
