CORE PURPOSE We require an ambitious, intellectually rigorous Science Teacher to deliver high-quality biology, chemistry, and physics instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS Curriculum Design & Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver highly structured, evidence-based science lessons that challenge pupils across all technical and academic abilities. Practical Laboratory Leadership: Coordinate and execute safe, engaging practical experiments, ensuring pupils master foundational laboratory techniques, scientific data collection, and safety protocols. Academic Progress Monitoring: Implement rigorous formative and summative assessment routines, utilising pupil tracking data to design sharp, targeted interventions that bridge learning gaps. Examination Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE combined and triple science specifications, maximising progress outcomes for all learners. Pastoral Care Integration: Undertake full form tutor responsibilities, managing daily registration, monitoring pupil attendance, and delivering the school's structured personal development units. ENVIRONMENT & STRUCTURE Academy Framework: Operating within a forward-thinking multi-academy trust, our academy benefits from centralised operational support, collaborative network planning, and robust professional development pathways designed to accelerate teacher growth. Behaviour Systems: The campus implements highly consistent, school-wide behaviour routines that maintain a quiet, respectful, and orderly atmosphere, ensuring classrooms and science laboratories remain calm, predictable, and safe environments for complex learning. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in a core scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics). Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress outcomes in terminal public examinations through explicit, highly engaging instruction. Routine Implementation: The ability to execute school behaviour policies with absolute consistency, maintaining a positive, highly focused, and strictly disciplined workshop and classroom culture. REGIONAL CONTEXT Innovation & Educational Expansion: Based in Royal Leamington Spa, the school operates within a thriving Warwickshire district experiencing significant infrastructure growth, highlighted by premier all-through school developments and a booming digital technology sector frequently dubbed "Silicon Spa". Connectivity: The area offers excellent West Midlands commuting links, providing efficient travel options via the regional road network (A452, A46, and nearby M40 corridor) alongside reliable rail services running smoothly through Leamington Spa station directly to Coventry, Birmingham, and London Marylebone.
