Job description
We are working with a specialist sen setting in Greenwich looking for an Autism Support Assistant to support pupils with autism and communication needs. This role is for someone who understands autism support beyond just having it written on a CV. The school needs someone patient structured and able to support pupils who may need visual routines sensory support and calm communication. What the role involves: - Supporting pupils with ASD and communication needs - Helping pupils follow routines and access learning - Using calm consistent support strategies - Working alongside experienced SEN staff and teachers What they are looking for: - Experience with autism support SEN care youth work or school support - Patience and emotional consistency - Someone who understands routine communication and regulation - A reliable person who can build trust over time Pay: 95 - 115 per day Location: Greenwich (SE9 5EQ) Apply now if you have solid autism or SEN support experience.

Postgraduate qualification or accredited training in SEND (e.g. National Award for SEN Coordination Autism Education Trust dyslexia/SpLD or SEMH)Proficiency in alternative/augmentative communication methodsMakaton PECS AAC using evidence-based interventions such as TEACCH SCERTS or Positive Behaviour in Team-Teach MAPA or similar de-escalation and safe-handling with assistive ed-tech tools and adaptive software
