Job description
Position: Science Teacher Location: Ipswich Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Science Teaching Role in an Academy School A forward-thinking academy school in Ipswich is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its successful department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and ambitious school that values innovation, scientific enquiry, and high-quality teaching. Science is a thriving subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop curiosity, analytical thinking, and practical investigative skills across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. About the Role You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and support excellent student progress. The role includes both classroom teaching and practical laboratory work, helping students develop confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting students in achieving strong outcomes and progression to further education. You will work collaboratively within a dynamic Science department committed to curriculum innovation and high standards of teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Plan and supervise practical laboratory sessions Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments Contribute to STEM enrichment and departmental initiatives The School Environment This academy school in Ipswich provides a dynamic and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
