Job description
Deputy Domiciliary Care Manager Were one of the largest not for profit care provider in the UK, specialising in providing high quality, person-centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing nationwide. At OSJCT we care about our residents and we care about each other. That means youll enjoy great career development working for an expanding organisation. Because were a not for profit trust, we invest every penny we make in the people who live in our homes and the people who work here too. This means better quality care and lovely homes for our residents, along with competitive wages and great training and development for our people. We provide outstanding care, working closely with leading experts on dementia and elderly care. And were currently modernising our portfolio of care homes - refurbishing our existing homes and moving into new, inspiring, contemporary care homes too. As we expand nationwide, we need more people with the right mix of skills, passion and ambition to help us grow even more. Location: Mayott House, Abingdon, OX14 5DH and Centurion House, Bicester, OX26 6EW ( working week will be split across both schemes) Pay rate: £17.36 per hour Shift Pattern: To be confirmed Mayott House is situated on Ock Street, Abingdon close to all the shops and leisure facilities this attractive Oxfordshire town offers, with easily accessible public transport. Opened in June 2012, Centurion House is situated in a peaceful cul de sac, close to the centre of the bustling market town of Bicester and the famous Bicester Village outlet centre. The new Bicester Village railway station is close by with fast services direct to both London Marylebone and Oxford. ABOUT THE ROLE Do you have experience of working in elderly care, with the passion to make a difference? Can you lead a small team of people to deliver outstanding care to our clients, whilst encouraging them to always do their best? Our Extra Care Housing schemes are made up of self-contained one or two-bedroom apartments in one location, all carefully designed and built to help clients live as independently as they can. With their own front door within the apartment block, clients can come and go as they please, socialise with neighbours in the communal areas or enjoy their own company in privacy. Within each housing scheme our care teams are on hand round the clock to support our clients with daily tasks. Our care teams make a real difference every day and your professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will be at the core of everything you do. Supporting the Domiciliary Care Manager, and leading a small care team, youll manage the day-to-day running of the domiciliary care service, focused on giving our clients a real sense of security, dignity, and independence. Youll en sure care plans are regularly reviewed through continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Youll be able to manage your time between supporting your team effectively and ensuring the wellbeing of our clients. ABOUT YOU Ideally with, or working towards, a Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, youll have a proven track record caring for vulnerable individuals with a commitment to providing high quality care at all times. Youll also have previous supervisory experience from the health and social care sector, including; managing rotas and payroll, performance reviews, interviewing and inductions for new starters. Alongside being confident in working on your own and being able to use your own initiative to resolve problems and deal with queries. At the request of your manager, you may be asked to travel to some of our other schemes, so youll need to have access to transport. You will also be part of the on-call rota. AND IN RETURN The Trust is a great place to work; weve been providing care for almost 1,000 years and were currently the second largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. Not-for-profit means that we reinvest every penny we make into our residents, clients, colleagues and the care homes and schemes we live and work in. We offer a great range of benefits, including a competitive salary, and investment in training and development. Here are some of the other benefits youll enjoy as a valued member of our team: * 30 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) * A Company pension * Access to our Employee Assistance Programme * Blue Light Card and "My Rewards" programme, offering you discounts on shopping, days out, restaurants and much more If you think you have the right skills and attitude to deliver the highest quality of care for our residents as a Deputy Domiciliary Care Manager within our schemes, then you could be the next to join us.
