Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, vibrant addition to our established 15-vet equine team. Based out of our busy equine clinic you will be on the road looking after our client base across Lancashire. Oakhill Equine Vets are excited to welcome an enthusiastic and passionate ambulatory equine vet to our friendly and progressive team in Preston, Lancashire. Whether you are a new graduate looking for exceptional support or an experienced vet seeking your next challenge, we can offer a role tailored to your experience and interests within our established team of 15 equine vets. An interest in lameness and/or anaesthesia would be an advantage, but is by no means essential. Why join Oakhill? What we can offer you: * A large, supportive team of 15 equine vets * Full surgical facilities and advanced diagnostic imaging, plus MRI on site * Support from two ECVS Diplomates in Surgery * Multiple certificate holders across a range of disciplines * Encouragement and support for career progression and further study * A collaborative environment where clinical discussion and learning are part of daily life * A varied ambulatory caseload with excellent clients * Fairly shared out-of-hours rota * Two vets on call at all times for support * Regular social events including practice walks, cheese and wine evenings, yoga nights and more. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about equine practice and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. The ideal candidate will be motivated, personable and keen to continue developing both clinically and professionally. You may be a recent graduate looking for strong mentorship and a collaborative environment, or a more experienced vet seeking a practice where you can further develop your interests and work alongside a highly skilled team. We are keen to find someone who values high standards of patient care, enjoys building relationships with clients and brings a positive attitude to practice life. We would particularly welcome candidates who are: * Passionate about equine veterinary work * Confident working both independently and as part of a team * Keen to learn and develop clinically * Friendly, approachable, and client-focused * Interested in contributing to a positive team culture An interest in lameness and/or anaesthesia would be an advantage, but is by no means essential.
