Job description
Position: Science Teacher Location: Sutton Coldfield Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Science Teaching Role in a Secondary School A well-regarded secondary school in Sutton Coldfield is seeking to appoint a Science Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and high-performing school that values academic excellence, scientific curiosity, and strong teaching practice. Science is a popular and successful subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop analytical thinking, practical skills, and a deep understanding of scientific principles across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. About the Role You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that challenge students and promote excellent progress. The role includes both theoretical learning and practical laboratory work, helping students build confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in achieving strong outcomes and progression to further study. You will work collaboratively within a committed Science department focused on high standards of teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Plan and supervise practical laboratory sessions Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback Track and monitor student progress effectively Maintain safe laboratory practices and procedures Contribute to departmental development and STEM enrichment The School Environment This secondary school in Sutton Coldfield provides a structured and supportive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
