Poultry Area Manager - Norfolk & Suffolk £50,000 – £55,000 DOE + Company Vehicle + Benefits
The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Poultry Area Manager to join a successful and growing agricultural business operating across Norfolk and Suffolk. Reporting directly to the Agricultural Director, this is a key operational role responsible for overseeing poultry production standards, compliance, welfare, planning and farm performance across multiple sites. The successful candidate will work closely with farm teams, suppliers and internal departments to ensure the highest standards of bird welfare, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance are maintained at all times.
This role requires a proactive and hands on individual who can balance strategic planning with practical support across a multi site farming operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with flock placement planning and communication with suppliers
- Coordinate and oversee day to day poultry operations across multiple farms
- Ensure all sites remain compliant with retailer standards, Red Tractor, RSPCA Assured and other relevant assurance schemes
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of bird welfare at all times
- Identify and escalate any compliance, welfare or production concerns to senior management
- Prepare farms and supporting documentation for internal and external audits
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of company policies and procedures
- Monitor production performance, KPIs and outcome data to support operational decision-making
- Organise and lead farm teams to ensure proactive and efficient working practices
- Build strong working relationships with farm managers, staff, suppliers and internal departments
- Provide hands-on operational support where required
- Undertake additional duties and project work to support business objectives

The Candidate
- Proven experience within poultry production, ideally in a multi site management, area manager or senior farm management role
- Strong knowledge of poultry welfare, production standards and industry best practice
- Experience working with Red Tractor, RSPCA Assured and other relevant assurance schemes
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience leading, motivating and coordinating teams across operational environments
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to accurately record, analyse and interpret production and performance data
- Hands-on and flexible approach with a willingness to support operational activities when required
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, with Excel skills advantageous
- Experience preparing for and supporting external audits desirable
- Full UK driving licence
The Package
- Salary of £50,000 – £55,000 per annum DOE

- Full-time position, 42.5 hours per week

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
