Job description
Position: Science Teacher Location: Huddersfield Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Science Teaching Role in an Independent School An independent school in Huddersfield is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and academically ambitious school that values curiosity, intellectual development, and high-quality teaching. Science is a highly regarded subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop analytical thinking, practical investigative skills, and scientific understanding through engaging learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. About the Role You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and academic confidence. The role includes both theoretical and practical laboratory-based learning, helping students build confidence in experimentation, evaluation, and scientific reasoning. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in achieving strong academic outcomes and progression to higher education. You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department while benefiting from smaller class sizes, excellent resources, and a strong focus on personalised learning. Key Responsibilities Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments Contribute to STEM and wider enrichment opportunities The School Environment This independent school in Huddersfield provides a nurturing and academically ambitious environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
