About Our Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a core member of the maintenance function, you will carry out reactive, predictive, and planned electrical maintenance across our fixed plant operations. This role is site-based and plays a critical part in ensuring plant reliability, safety, and operational performance.

Working hours are Monday-Friday, with overtime required to support operational needs.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs on fixed plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems including motors, drives, control panels, conveyors, shredders, balers, and associated plant equipment.
  • Maintain and fault-find on three-phase power systems, control circuits, PLCs, inverters, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Complete and maintain all maintenance records and documentation using the CMMS system.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and application of safe isolation and LOTOTO procedures.
  • Work safely in accordance with company policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Follow OEM maintenance schedules, technical documentation, and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and reduce downtime
  • Collaborate effectively with mechanical engineers, contractors, and operational teams to minimise disruption to production.

About You:
  • Proven experience maintaining and fault-finding on industrial electrical systems within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, recycling, quarrying, or process plant environment.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and electrical fault diagnosis.
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Maintenance.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and respond effectively to plant breakdowns.
  • Proven track record of experience in a comparable Fixed Plant Electrical Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer role.

Our purpose is to create a future where the materials we use don't need to be extracted from the planet.'

At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials. Every year, we recycle 10 million tonnes of metals and plastics, saving 19 million tonnes of carbon from entering the Earth's atmosphere, diverting waste from landfill and protecting resources and habitats.

We're proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status, but it's about so much more than a badge. It's about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them:

'The people who work here are from varied backgrounds and have a variety of beliefs, all of which are accepted and respected.'

'I'm encouraged to keep a healthy work-life balance so that I can be performing at my best.'

'I've been supported every step of the way in my career progression.'

''EMR offers a fantastic and inclusive environment; collaboration across the whole business, humility and hard work.'

We couldn't do any of this without our team members. In return for all they do, we do everything we can to create an environment of belonging, value, support and growth, underpinned by our Company values of We Care and We Do.
