Job description

Our client, a well-established renewable energy supplier, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team and drive new business. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of securing new business opportunities, developing a strong sales pipeline and selling flexible gas and electricity procurement contracts along with additional energy products and solutions. This exciting role is essential for the company's continued success in expanding its customer base and growth revenue. Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:

  • Acquire accounts with energy consumption above approximately 25GWh to 100GWh’s
  • Build long-term relationships with customers
  • Oversee and coordinate complex tenders from enquiry to deal acceptance
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Research new business opportunities - new markets, growth areas, trends etc
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
  • Help to plan sales campaigns.
  • create a target market sales pipeline
  • Determine pricing and deal structures to optimise propositions and drive growth.

Skills and Experience required for the Business Development Manager:

  • Experience Business Development experience from B2B energy supply or consultancy
  • Experience in selling flex contracts and energy solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills: confident, credible, persuasive, and a team player
  • Good knowledge of the UK energy markets
  • Experience in negotiating and selling fixed and flexible energy contracts
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to bring significant value to the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable taking ownership and proposing improvements.
  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders towards strategic goals
  • Ability to clearly present complex structures and solutions
