Job description

*Please note this role is UK only.*

We are KOPE and we are dedicated to revolutionising how we design and construct the build environment

KOPE is the only purpose-built software platform for offsite construction. We enable the transition from traditional construction by integrating offsite processes and products. We instantly apply real-world products directly to design models, allowing the worlds of design and manufacturing to come together as one.

We are building a better future.

Join us.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure. This role combines operational efficiency with a strong security mindset, ensuring that our platforms are reliable, compliant, and continuously improving.

You will play a key role in shaping our cloud strategy, enhancing our CI/CD capabilities, and embedding security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
  • Build and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and failover strategies to ensure business continuity
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi (existing knowledge of Terraform or similar also acceptable)
  • Ensure infrastructure is version-controlled, reusable, and aligned with best practices
  • Maintain and enhance existing pipelines in Azure DevOps
  • Design and implement modern CI/CD workflows to improve build, test, and deployment processes
  • Evaluate and lead potential migration to more mature or scalable tooling platforms
  • Integrate security practices into all stages of the development and deployment lifecycle
  • Manage and optimise vulnerability scanning tools and processes
  • Analyse and prioritise security findings, working with teams to remediate risks
  • Act as the primary liaison for external penetration testing providers and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and organisational policies
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and architecture
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (preferably Pulumi, ideally with C#)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps and at least one other, E.G Jenkins, Teamcity, Github actions, Octopus Deploy etc)
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools and processes
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and implementation

Desirable Skills

  • Experience migrating CI/CD platforms or modernising build systems
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2)
  • Experience and understanding of the changing nature of AI involvement in this area and how to employ it
  • Remote first
  • Flexible working style
  • Relaxed and fun culture
  • Greenfield development with no legacy apps
  • Autonomy & responsibility encouraged
  • Generous holiday allowance - 23 days paid holiday plus public and bank holidays
  • Aviva Health Insurance
  • Winter leave – the office closes between Christmas eve and 1st January (inclusive) this is in addition to your personal annual leave
  • All-company in person events
  • Generous maternity, paternity and parental leave policy
