Job description

About Ventra Health Ventra Health is a trusted leader in delivering business solutions for facility-based physicians across specialties including anesthesia, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, pathology, and radiology. Specialising in Revenue Cycle Management, we collaborate with private practices, hospitals, health systems, and ambulatory surgery centres to create transparent, data-driven strategies that address complex revenue and reimbursement challenges. Our goal is to enable healthcare providers to focus on their core mission—delivering exceptional patient care—while we handle the operational intricacies. Through innovation, expertise, and a commitment to excellence, we help our partners navigate the evolving healthcare landscape with efficiency and confidence. Why Join Us At Ventra Health, we believe exceptional work deserves exceptional rewards. As part of our Rewards & Recognition program, this internship is eligible for our performance-based incentive plan. We also encourage a culture of growth and collaboration—whether you are joining our team directly or referring a talented friend for an open position, we value your contribution and offer referral bonuses. Working with us means gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment where learning is constant and contributions are recognised. This is your opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals in a company that values integrity, innovation, and teamwork. About the Role The Legal Intern will play a vital role in supporting Ventra’s in-house corporate legal department. Your work will include reviewing, drafting, and managing contracts, organising legal consents, performing corporate compliance tasks, and conducting legal research, particularly in healthcare-related areas. You will contribute to drafting confidentiality agreements, vendor and customer contracts, legal correspondence, and compliance reports. In addition, you will assist in maintaining state filings, managing business licences, and supporting various legal and compliance projects. While much of the work can be performed remotely, there may be occasional in-office requirements, allowing you to experience both virtual and direct collaboration. Key Responsibilities Your primary tasks will include conducting legal research, reviewing customer and vendor agreements, drafting and logging contracts, and preparing legal correspondence. You will help manage corporate filings, licences, and compliance records while also contributing to drafting reports and supporting ongoing projects. This role provides the chance to engage in the full spectrum of in-house legal work, from reviewing commercial agreements to understanding state and federal compliance obligations. You will work closely with senior legal team members, gaining insight into real-world corporate legal operations within the healthcare sector. This is a hands-on role designed to strengthen both technical and practical skills. Eligibility & Skills Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and be currently enrolled as a second or third-year student in an accredited law school pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Prior experience in contract review, corporate law, or healthcare-related legal work is advantageous. The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, and demonstrates strong ethical judgment. Essential skills include the ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations, communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools like Westlaw is expected. The role calls for a proactive, independent, and solution-focused mindset. Compensation & Benefits Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including location, experience, qualifications, and skill set. In addition to a competitive base pay, this internship is eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus as per company policy. Beyond monetary rewards, you will gain valuable experience working with a highly skilled legal team in a respected healthcare solutions company. Our inclusive, collaborative work culture ensures that interns are not just observers but active contributors to meaningful legal and compliance projects that impact our business operations. Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion Ventra Health is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We foster an inclusive and respectful workplace where employees of all backgrounds can thrive. We welcome applications from diverse candidates, including individuals from underrepresented groups. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, colour, ethnicity, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. We are also committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities to ensure full participation in the application, interview, and job performance process. Application & Safety Notice All legitimate job openings at Ventra Health are posted on our official careers page: https://ventrahealth.com/careers/. We never solicit payment from applicants and caution against fraudulent recruitment practices. If you receive any suspicious communication claiming to represent Ventra Health, contact us at Careers@VentraHealth.com to verify its authenticity. For your safety, please apply only through our official channels. We are also committed to ensuring accessibility for all applicants and continually work to improve our digital platforms to meet accessibility standards. J-18808-Ljbffr
