Job description

The role

will be varied in focus and will include design and delivery of UAS technical training in accordance with current Defence System Approach to Training (DSAT) methodology.

Successful candidates may be required to start at short notice so please let us know your availability when contacting us.

THE PERSON

Inzpire is looking for dynamic, proactive individuals with a ‘can do attitude’ who are capable of working within a military training environment with minimal supervision and are keen to contribute their own experience, suggesting ideas to continually improve the training delivery.

At times the role will require flexible working or shift work in support of our customers training needs. Prior military or a uniformed service background is highly desirable, especially in the operation of UAS in the land environment; all services and cap badges will be considered. Additionally, if further UAS experience has been gained after leaving military service in a civil capacity, this will also be considered favourably. However, we are also keen to build on the experience of highly experienced civilian UAS Pilots who may not have served in the military but have outstanding skills and experience in UAS operations.

All candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experienced Fixed Wing (Stalker/Eagle and or Puma, highly desirable) and Multi-Rotor UAS operator (evidenced with Logbook)
  • Experience in teaching or instructing others
  • Valid Driving Licence.
  • In date Passport.

The ideal candidate would have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Military Experience – HM Forces Veteran with significant service
    or
  • Civil UAS Operations Experience – at least a couple of logged UAS operations
  • Letter of Recommendation from military chain of command or past civil UAS employer.
  • Civilian (CAA) UAS Qualifications – GVC/LPC L1 MR and FW (both essential for some roles).
  • Mini/Small-UAS Instructional Experience (e.g. Wasp/Desert Hawk 3/Puma/Eagle or equivalent).
  • Military RPAS or Tactical UAS Pilot / Sensor Operator experience.
  • Instructor Qualifications: accredited to Level 3 Award in Education are highly desirable, but other instructional qualifications will be considered including Defence Train the Trainer (DTTT) or Aircrew Instructor Course (AIC), CFS qualifications etc.
  • Familiarity with JSP822 Defence System Approach to Training (DSAT) methodology.
  • Extant Security Clearance (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with MAA RA 1600 series
  • Familiarity with CAA UAS category regulations

LOCATION AND HOURS OF WORK

The place of work will predominantly be in the vicinity of Wiltshire to support a customer but may require travel to other parts of mainland UK to deliver courses, and within the EU, up to 40 hours a week. Candidates should live in UK. Where delivery takes place away from their primary work location, travel, accommodation and subsistence costs will be covered, however, it is expected that employees will have their own vehicle for UK based travel.

Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
