About your role...
WSPs Transport Planning & Mobility team is growing and we are now looking for Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join us to support our growing range of projects across the Energy sector.

Our Transport & Mobility teams play a critical role across the full project lifecycle from early planning and consenting through to design construction and operation ensuring schemes work effectively impacts are minimised and real benefits are realised for local communities and businesses.

In this Senior / Principal Transport Planner role focused on the Energy sector you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking Transport Statements Transport Assessments Environmental Statement Transport ChaptersConstruction Traffic Management Plansand Travel Plans including playing a hands-on role in Client and Local Authority scoping discussions.
- Leadingtechnical discussions aroundtheaccessibilityof project / construction sites for a wide range of modes and articulate the impacts and mitigationsrequiredto support planning approvals.
- Workingin a multi-disciplinary environment and taking a proactive approach in working with adjacent disciplines such as noise and air quality ecology and highway teams.
- Beingflexible andupskillingyour knowledge to enable you to work across other transport workstreams such ascommunicationsand engagement to support a sustainable and balanced workflow for the local team.
- Workingin a collaborative client/consultant environment andrepresentingour values when delivering the work for our clients.
- Keepingup to datewith relevant standards and policies;raisingWSPsprofile bynetworking andoccasionallyattending conferences.
- Ensuringyour projects are delivered to budget programme andrequiredtechnical standards.

- Experience ofScoping Reports Transport Assessments and Environmental Statement Transport Chapters.
- Experience of deliveringtransport planning projects and knowledge of relevantguidelines andstandards.
- Familiarity with Local Authority Transport Plans and Strategies would be beneficial as would experience intransport feasibility studiesoptionassessment reports and providing inputs into transport related business cases.
- Strong numerical spatial and analytical skills and excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools.
- Ability to produce project reports including technical documents to a high technical standard.
- Ability to communicate technical arguments to technical and non-technical clients and present outputs from studies to range of audiences.
- Knowledge of current transport policy at sub-regionalregionaland national level.
