Decorator Machine Operator

• Comply with all health & safety regulations, rules, procedures and policies. Comply with all environmental requirements as stipulated in ISO 14001 and BRC procedures and guidelines on health & safety.
• To keep a clean and tidy work area.
• To keep records and if required samples of any quality issues.
• To report any issues with the technical condition of the machine.
• To assist with the control of production and quality specification.
• To keep maintain continuity of production.
• Possess good manual dexterity and reacts promptly in order to produce a good quality product.
• Responsibility for any assigned equipment.
• Co-operation with supervisor and other workers on both production lines.
• To assist the training of CPUK employees and where applicable persons external to CPUK i.e. agency workers and/or contractors.
• Support other leaders/operators, colleagues in the continuation of production at the front end of the line, for example body maker and washer.
• Able to provide absence cover if required and help out during changeovers etc. on both production lines.
• Always using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties such of similar nature as from time to time may be required including any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
• Attend obligatory trainings provided by CPUK.
• Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, stock specifications and external defects.
• Load, position and adjust unprinted materials on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanism.
• Monitor stocks of materials.
• Co-ordinate printing activities with co-workers, who set up, clean and feed machines.
• Clean and lubricate printing machines and components direct and cooperate with co-workers during feeding, inspecting and tending printing machines and materials.
• Mix and test; inks, stains and solvent according to types of material being printed and other work specifications.
• Set and adjust speed, temperature, ink flow, positions and pressure tolerance of equipment.
• Appropriate dress for the job in hand which obeys all the relevant H&S regulations in force.

Any qualifications in machine operation, previous experience in a similar role, Health and Safety training, Fire Prevention training, ISO awareness, knowledge of factory processes, machine operative skills, general maintenance, eye for detail, ability to work to specifications.
