Location: Bath
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time
Salary: £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Psychology Graduate to join a supportive mainstream school in Bath, working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across both primary and secondary age groups.
In this role, you will primarily support pupils who have experienced trauma, often presenting with needs similar to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will play an important part in helping students feel safe, understood, and able to engage positively with their learning.

Key Responsibilities

Support students with trauma-related needs and ASC-like presentations
Assist in delivering personalised interventions to support learning and emotional development
Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social interaction skills, and confidence
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams
Contribute to maintaining a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
Track and report on student progress and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A degree in Psychology or a related discipline
A strong interest in SEN, mental health, and child development
An understanding of trauma-informed approaches (desirable but not essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A resilient, patient, and proactive approach
Experience working with children or young people (advantageous but not essential)

What the School Offers

A welcoming and inclusive school environment
Support from an experienced and collaborative SEN team
Ongoing training in SEN, ASC, and trauma-informed practice
Excellent experience for those pursuing careers in Educational Psychology, Teaching, or Therapy
The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils' lives
