Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Start Date: September
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £95–£110 per day (dependent on experience)

Supply Desk is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Rickmansworth from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

You will provide 1:1 support, assist with small group interventions, and help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed. The role will involve promoting positive behaviour, encouraging independence, and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs while ensuring pupils remain fully engaged in lessons.

Working as part of a supportive and experienced staff team, you will build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and external professionals, contributing to the academic, social, and emotional development of every child. Whether you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or looking to build your career within Special Educational Needs, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference within a supportive school community.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Support pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and learning difficulties to access the curriculum.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies and support individual education plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence throughout the school day.
  • Adapt classroom resources and learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding, behaviour management, and pupil wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a school, childcare, or support setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
  • Has experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
  • Is passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

What We Offer

• Competitive weekly pay in line with the MPS/UPS pay scale.
• Dedicated support from experienced local education consultants.
• Access to high-quality CPD and professional development opportunities.
• Comprehensive safeguarding training.
• Opportunities to work within supportive and well-resourced schools.
• Weekly pay with a straightforward payroll process.
• Refer a Friend Scheme – earn £100 for every successful referral who completes five or more shifts.

If you're a committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Rickmansworth, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to secure your role for September.
