Job description

Care Practitioner (Days). The Oaks Care Home

  • Pay Rate: £13.28 per hour
  • Contract: Full Time and Part Time available
  • 22 hour / 27.5 hour / 33 hour per week (shifts 8am - 8pm)
  • Please note this role is not eligible for sponsorship and is not suitable for 20 hours working restrictions

Situated in Newtown, Powys, this luxurious 73-bed, purpose-built nursing and residential home opened in January 2020 and offers state-of-the-art facilities. These include a coffee shop/bistro, hair & nail salon, activities room, landscaped gardens, and advanced care technology.

We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and dynamic environment for both residents and staff, and we are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate individuals to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Your Role as a Care Practitioner (Days):

As a Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents during the day. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Personalized Support: Assisting residents with personal care routines, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, while respecting their dignity and independence.
  • Meal Assistance: Supporting residents during meal times, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
  • Engagement and Activities: Encouraging residents to participate in hobbies, social events, and daily activities to enrich their lives.
  • Health Monitoring: Observing and recording any changes in residents’ health or behavior and promptly reporting concerns to senior staff.
  • Environmental Standards: Maintaining cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere in residents’ rooms and communal areas.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to ensure all residents receive consistent, high-quality care.
  • Ongoing Learning: Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

  • Exhibit Strong Communication Skills: Build positive relationships with residents, their families, and team members.
  • Work with Integrity: Maintain high professional standards, including discretion and respect for residents’ privacy.
  • Be Flexible and Adaptable: Respond effectively to the dynamic needs of residents and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience is a Plus: Previous experience in care is welcome but not essential. We value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
