Job description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and roles. The role: An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team. The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the care and support of older people affected by mental health and their relatives referred to our service by their GP. You need to have a live NMC UK pin to be considered for this post. Newly Qualified Nurses will not be accepted and must go through the NQN route. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and during the pre‑employment verification process. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern: * This is a permanent post * Working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday * This is a community post based within Belmont Centre Key responsibilities: * The post holder will mainly be involved in the assessment of patients in their own home. * The post holder will have to undertake duties without direct supervision which includes working in partnership with patients and their relatives, liaising with third sector agencies, line managers and other staff within the Older Peoples Community Mental Health team and wider HSCP. * The post holder will be responsible for the management of their daily visits to patients to assess their mental health needs. * The post holder will engage in regular weekly MDTs and will participate in regular supervision both caseload management and clinical supervision as these are critical aspects of a Band 5 Community Psychiatric nurse. Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job: The post holder should be registered with the NMC and have a driving licence as home visits are necessary.
