The Role\n
\n- Serve as the clinical leader, setting and upholding medical standards and patient-safety protocols\n
\n- Provide hands-on patient care for the majority of the workweek across wellness, medical, surgical, dental, and select exotic-pet cases\n
\n- Mentor and coach associate veterinarians; lead case reviews and regular doctor meetings\n
\n- Partner with practice management on scheduling, workflow optimization, inventory, and team development\n
\n- Ensure accurate medical recordkeeping and appropriate, compliant charging practices\n
\n- Oversee controlled substance compliance, radiation safety, and related regulatory requirements\n
\n- Support community engagement through client education and local outreach\n
\n- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding veterinary team members\n
\n
Requirements\n
\n- DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution\n
\n- License to practice veterinary medicine in Alabama (or ability to obtain)\n
\n- DEA registration and applicable state registrations\n
\n- Eligibility to work in the United States\n
\n- 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred; prior leadership or mentorship experience is a plus\n
\n- Strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to collaborative, high-quality care\n
\n- Interest in or comfort with exotic-pet cases is welcomed but not required\n
