The Hospital\n

The Role\n
\n- Lead medical quality and patient safety standards while delivering hands-on clinical care for the majority of the workweek.\n
\n- Mentor, coach, and develop associate doctors; provide regular feedback, case reviews, and support for continuous improvement.\n
\n- Partner with the practice manager on scheduling, workflow optimization, inventory, and staff development so team members work at the top of their training.\n
\n- Guide a varied caseload across wellness, urgent care, surgery, dentistry, and exotics; champion excellent client communication and education.\n
\n- Oversee compliance areas such as controlled substances, required registrations/permits, and radiation safety.\n
\n- Organize doctor meetings focused on standards, protocols, and case collaboration.\n
\n- Support recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of veterinary team members.\n
\n- Ensure accurate, timely medical records and appropriate, compliant charging.\n
\n- Foster a positive, inclusive culture and engage with the local community through education and outreach.\n
\n
Requirements\n
\n- DVM/VMD or equivalent from an accredited institution\n
\n- Active Alabama veterinary license (or ability to obtain)\n
\n- DEA registration and any state-controlled substance or related permits as required\n
\n- Eligibility to work in the United States\n
\n- 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred; prior leadership, mentorship, or team development experience preferred\n
\n- Strong communication skills and a client-centered approach\n
\n- Ability to commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week\n
\n- Experience with exotic species welcomed but not required\n
