Job description
Job Title: CNC Setter / Operator (Miller) Reports to: Machining Cell Leader Location: Lower Dicker, UK JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE The main purpose of this role will be: Set and operate CNC Mills to produce parts correct to drawing. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES The main requirements and employee accountabilities are: Set and Run proven and unproven programs, adjust work and/or tool coordinates and correct any errors. Set tools and produce 'First off' parts to the correct quality. Change from machine to machine at infrequent intervals. Fulfil training programs deemed necessary to allow efficient performance of duties. Maintaining of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Perform other duties from time to time, as may be required by the Company. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The essential skills/experience required for this role are: Must have experience in using CNC Machines Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T. Ability to read & understand ISO and conversational machine programs. Capable of using various machine controls (FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemens). Understand how tools and material will react after & during machining. To be able to foresee potential problems before they arise. Deadline driven without compromising quality. Ideally have experience in machining chambers and fabricated items. Understands requirements of On Time Delivery both internally and externally. DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The skills and experience we would like the employee in this role to have are: IT literate (Windows 7, MS Office). Experience of offline programming. AlphaCAM preferable – training available. Experience of electronic inspection using Faro Arm. Experienced in manual turning. Experienced in CNC turning. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: Desirable Qualifications: Basic training of a craft apprenticeship and 5 years minimum experience of actual machining Further qualification in an engineering/manufacturing discipline PERSONAL QUALITIES/ATTRIBUTES We require all employees to have the following personal qualities/attributes High levels of motivation, enthusiasm.
