Job description
Are you an ambitious Music Teacher ready to lead a thriving department, inspire creativity, and shape an engaging music curriculum within an excellent secondary school? Role Overview An excellent and well-regarded secondary school in Bristol is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Music to lead and further develop its successful Music department. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering the opportunity to combine high-quality classroom teaching with subject leadership. Key Details Excellent secondary school based in Bristol Head of Music leadership role Full-time, permanent position Responsibility for curriculum development and departmental leadership The Role As Head of Music, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the Music department, including curriculum planning across KS3 & KS4, with the opportunity to develop KS5 provision. You will lead and support staff, manage resources, and promote a rich extra-curricular programme including ensembles, performances, and school productions. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning, strong pupil outcomes, and a vibrant music culture across the school. The School The school has an excellent reputation for academic success, positive behaviour, and a strong commitment to the arts. Music is highly valued within the wider curriculum, and students are encouraged to participate in concerts, performances, and enrichment activities.
