Our Real Assets Portfolio team "RAP" is part of the Deals team. Its' purpose is to help clients manage and drive value post transaction by working collaboratively across specialisms and help our clients succeed at all stages of the deal lifecycle. We have a market leading client base of some of the most active and dynamic investors and we pride ourselves on the strength of our network.

Our Deals Tax team works closely with our Deals practice to advise on the tax implications of all aspects of transactions including; Mergers & Acquisition, Business Recovery Services and Real Estate, but our relationships extend far beyond transactions.

We operate on a national basis so that, no matter where individuals are located, we bring the best experts to our clients and the broadest range of opportunities to our people. We are proud of the diversity and depth of specialism of our teams in the Midlands which means we can offer not only exceptional value to our clients, but a depth and variety of experience for our people which is unrivalled outside London.

You will quickly grow your network of other specialists in the firm to bring the best of PwC to our clients. You will be a creative problem solver capable of coordinating the input of multiple specialists alongside your own area of expertise.

Our team is fueled by open and curious minds who are passionate about their work. As part of the team you'll experience unparalleled opportunities to develop your career. You'll work on complex and challenging projects and gain experience working with prestigious and diverse clients - from high profile multinational organisations and private equity firms to start-ups and owner-managed businesses.

What your days will look like:

We are looking for ambitious corporate tax specialists for this client facing role. You will be expected to start managing UK corporate tax relationships with a range of clients with complex tax situations from day one and will be encouraged and supported as you build specialist sector and international skills. You will also develop our presence in the market place, as well as build your reputation across PwC's global network. Core focus areas of the role include:

  • Responsibility for managing a diverse client portfolio: you will be responsible for leading client relationships on a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for current work while also seeking to generate new work opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring that client communication is pitched at the right level and delivered by appropriate team members in a timely manner.
  • Team Management: You will be responsible for leading large and diverse client teams, providing a high degree of leverage to partners while overseeing the day to day work of the team and co-ordinating the input of specialists and our international network. You will also be responsible for providing detailed and constructive feedback to your colleagues throughout the year and at formal review times.
  • You will contribute to the leadership of our RAP team through recruitment strategy and activities, by developing the skills and technical knowledge of the wider team and by supporting and developing colleagues while contributing actively to a strong coaching culture.
  • You will have a significant level of involvement in the generation of new business for our team. This will include identifying opportunities to develop new clients and having a high degree of involvement in converting leads, developing personal relationships with existing clients, leading proposals with partner support and contributing to the development of client propositions. You will also take an active role in contributing to the adoption and development of tax technology within the team.
  • Finances: You will be responsible for the financial management and profitability of your client engagements including reviewing budgets, maintaining efficiency and billing on a timely basis.
  • Personal development: You will be supported in your personal development to enable you to stay current with technical developments including changes in tax law and legislation in the UK. You will also play a role in the technical development and training of your team both formally through training sessions and in day-to-day interactions.

This role is for you if:
  • Must possess an accounting or tax qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country.
  • a flexible approach to allow you to work as part of a number of client teams simultaneously.
  • experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internally.
  • strong analytical skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative and creative way.
  • experience of project managing and delegating work within a team context.
  • a focus on self-development and in the development of others in your teams.

What you'll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
