Position: Mental Health Nurse – Neurodevelopmental Assessments Location: Norwich, Norfolk Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time and Part-Time Available) Working Pattern: Clinic-Based / Hybrid (Minimum 1-2 days in office) Salary: £30,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Job Opportunity: Mental Health Nurse – Neurodevelopmental Assessments RGH-Global are excited to present an excellent opportunity to join an award-winning, NHS approved independent psychology and neurodevelopmental practice. Role Overview We are seeking Mental Health Nurses for full-time and part-time roles within our client's Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team based in Norwich. This is an exciting and valuable clinic-based/hybrid position (minimum 1-2 days in office) for suitably qualified clinicians working with children and young people referred for autism and/or ADHD assessments via NHS Patient Choice and GP pathways. You will join a passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and their families. Working with cutting-edge digital workflows and smart report-writing tools, you'll be equipped to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care. The role requires conducting comprehensive specialist assessments including diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected autism and/or ADHD using established diagnostic tools. Assessments of mental health conditions may also be required. You will conduct developmental history interviews, participate in MDT diagnostic discussions, and deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families. Responsibilities include producing accurate clinical reports with diagnostic formulations, meeting service KPIs, and depending on experience, providing clinical supervision to junior team members. Key Responsibilities Conducting face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process Conducting remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom Participating collaboratively in peer MDT diagnostic discussions, supported by senior clinicians where needed Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families Producing accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with the help of smart tools Writing assessment reports in a timely and professional manner with appropriate recommendations and interventions Working efficiently to meet service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Delivering clinical supervision to junior staff members (where applicable) Attending the Norwich clinic base for in-person assessments (minimum 1-2 days per week) Essential Requirements NMC registered Mental Health Nurse Minimum of 1 year experience conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental/specialist developmental assessments with children and young people OR adults Experience with assessment tools for autism and/or ADHD Must have worked within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) conducting assessments - NOT worked alone Willing to conduct assessments for BOTH autism AND ADHD Willing to be trained in either area if lacking experience in one Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD Knowledge of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations Experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting Effective time management and caseload organisation skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in report writing and record keeping Must be eligible to work in the UK Highly Desirable Trained and experienced in the use of ADOS-2 and ADI-R Additional qualifications in relevant areas of autism and/or ADHD Our Ways of Working Digital workflows and smart report-writing reduce admin time and enhance clinical impact A custom-built electronic health record system, developed in-house using market leading research Continuously enhancing internal systems, based on employee feedback to improve efficiency Ongoing training and onboarding to ensure confidence in all tech and systems In-house IT and operational support, so you're never left troubleshooting alone Benefits A values-led culture where clinical excellence, compassion, and staff wellbeing come first Continued professional development, clinical supervision, and reflective practice Competitive salary based on experience (£30,000 - £55,000 per annum), with annual salary reviews and pension contributions Generous leave entitlement, including 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays - and a day off for your birthday Private healthcare to support your physical and mental health A company laptop and on-call IT support to enable seamless working Opportunities to contribute beyond clinical work through training and research initiatives Company events Access to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team passionate about improving outcomes for neurodivergent individuals and their families This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact for families through high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments in a supportive, professional environment.
