This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, finalist or QBE accountant looking to take the next step in their career and gain broader commercial exposure within a busy, fast-paced organisation. Working as part of an established finance function, you'll play an important role in the production of monthly management accounts, financial analysis and performance reporting, while working closely with stakeholders across the wider business. This isn't a role where you'll simply produce the numbers and move on. You'll work closely with both finance and non-finance colleagues, providing accurate reporting alongside meaningful analysis and insight into business performance. The role will suit someone who enjoys a varied position and wants to develop their commercial understanding alongside their technical accounting skills. Key Responsibilities Management Accounts & Reporting Prepare and submit monthly management accounts within agreed group deadlines Take responsibility for key balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly Review monthly P&L performance and provide analysis and commentary to key stakeholders Provide financial information and insight to support effective business decision-making Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and presented to a high standard Commercial & Business Partnering Work closely with operational, commercial and shared service teams across the business Provide analysis and insight into financial and operational performance Support stakeholders in understanding financial results and key performance drivers Challenge performance where appropriate and identify opportunities to improve efficiency Contribute to initiatives focused on cost management and business improvement Planning & Analysis Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes Assist with operational performance reviews Analyse trends and variances, identifying areas requiring further investigation Support the finance team with ad hoc analysis and reporting as required Finance Operations Support internal and external audit requirements Assist with compliance reporting Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the finance function Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider finance team Provide support on additional finance projects and responsibilities as required About You This opportunity will suit a part-qualified, finalist or QBE accountant who has already developed a good grounding in finance and is now looking for a role that offers greater responsibility and commercial exposure. You may currently be working as an Assistant Management Accountant, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant or in another broad finance role and be ready to take the next step. We're particularly interested in candidates who have: Essential Experience Experience in management accounting, financial reporting or a similar finance environment Part-qualified, finalist or QBE accounting experience Strong Excel and analytical skills Good understanding of P&L and balance sheet accounting Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with non-finance stakeholders A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Desirable Previous experience within FMCG, manufacturing, distribution or another commercial environment Experience working with operational or commercial teams SAP or other ERP system experience Previous exposure to budgeting and forecasting The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, curious and keen to develop. You'll be comfortable working with numbers but equally interested in understanding what sits behind them. You'll have the confidence to ask questions, challenge when appropriate and build effective relationships with colleagues outside finance. You don't need to have every aspect of the role already covered. What's important is that you have a strong accounting foundation, a willingness to learn and the ambition to develop into a broader commercial finance professional.
