Puffin Produce Ltd, based in West Wales are the largest supplier of Welsh produce in Wales, supplying a wide variety of potatoes and seasonal vegetables to multiple major retailers and wholesalers. Our organisation holds an excellent reputation as a progressive and developing company and we have recently made significant investment in a state‑of‑the‑art packing facility. Our Blas y Tir brand is a large part of our business in Wales and our new brand – Root Zero, has launched into the UK as the UK’s first Carbon Neutral potato brand. Pembrokeshire Creamery is a recent investment in a state‑of‑the‑art milk‑bottling facility based in West Wales, which will supply many of the major retailers across Wales through own label and the brand Blas y Tir. The Role We are looking to recruit an experienced Marketing Manager to join our dynamic team across the group. You will have a positive and proactive approach, working to a high standard; leading the Marketing function and covering all elements of the Marketing Mix to ensure short term brand targets and long‑term brand goals are met. The job is primarily based at our Withybush head office in Haverfordwest, with some time out of the office when at events or external meetings. You will lead the development of the brand strategy across all brands including the business brands ‘Puffin’ and ‘Pembrokeshire Creamery,’ working with the Sales team to build strategic brand and category plans for the consumer facing ‘Blas y Tir’ and ‘Root Zero’ brands across both the Produce and Dairy category. You will lead the development of the 12‑month integrated communications plan, and apply it accordingly. Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style are required. As such you will demonstrate professional competence and a character that promotes inclusion and diversity at all levels. Organisational and analytical skills are paramount, as you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation of consumer‑facing events and shows, as well as overseeing media selection and understanding return on investment. The right candidate will also have strong project management and can apply and work within allocated budgets. This is an autonomous role, offering the opportunity for the right candidate to make a recognised contribution to the continued success of both businesses and the Blas y Tir and Root Zero brands. Reporting into– Head of Sales & Marketing Key Responsibilities * Develop and manage the long‑term brand strategies for the Brands * Lead the development of the 12‑month brand and integrated communications plan. * Lead brand development and NPD streams. * Oversee media selection, ensuring effectiveness of channels to reach target audience. * Develop winning category plans, working alongside the Sales team. * Manage 3rd party relationships, attend industry events, and support retail and stakeholder engagement. * Develop and manage PR and sponsorship opportunities and relationships. * Build and manage annual Marketing budgets. * Evaluate return‑on‑investment of all Marketing activities. * Lead all internal and B2B communications, championing the brand internally and externally. * Act as the ‘voice of the consumer’ within the business. * Always observe business etiquette and confidentiality. * Attend training courses, Company meetings and other events as required. * Carry out such other reasonable tasks that may be required from time‑to‑time. * Manage internal communications i.e. newsletters, brand engagement * Line management of the Marketing Executive * Proven track record in Marketing particularly Brand strategy and development * Communications planning * Campaign execution * Strategic thinking * Budget management * Analytical skills * Well‑organised, and ability to multi‑task * Able to work in a team * High level of written and oral skills * Literate in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint * Full UK driving licence * Sales/Marketing/PR experience, especially FMCG Brand Management * Educated to degree level. * Coaching and mentoring experience * Knowledge of the Welsh Language We can offer a platform for both personal and professional development for the right candidate, with opportunities to communicate the brand message daily.
