Job description
A highly regarded secondary academy in Dudley is looking for a proactive School Attendance Officer. This position plays a critical role in tracking student attendance daily, liaising directly with parents, conducting first-day calling, and identifying patterns of persistent absence. Working closely with the pastoral teams, you will help implement strategies that remove barriers to education and support student wellbeing. The School Environment The school has clear systems and consistent routines in place, ensuring a supportive framework for attendance management. The culture is built on professional trust, recognizing the attendance team as a vital pillar of student success and safeguarding. It is a friendly, collaborative workplace where direct communication and empathy are valued. Requirements * Essential: Direct previous experience handling student attendance, registers, or pastoral administration within a school setting is a must. Essential: You must have the legal right to work in the UK . Strong communication skills and the resilience to navigate challenging conversations with professionalism. Key Details & Benefits * Contract: Full-time or Part-time (Permanent). Hours: 35 hours per week (Term-time only). Salary Range: £25,000 – £30,500 per annum (pro-rata).
