Job summaryWe are recruiting a motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Psychology Team as a Band 8a, or as a Band 7 with a supported pathway to Band 8a.
Our 20+ team sits within CAMHS across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The post is based in Paediatric Psychology, with work at Leicester Royal Infirmary and community sites, supporting children and young people with complex health needs.
This split post covers Haemoglobinopathies, Neonatal Intensive Care and Paediatric Liaison. The neonatal service is embedded within the NICUs at Leicester General and Leicester Royal Infirmary, providing specialist psychological support to parents and staff around trauma, early parenting and the emotional impact of neonatal admission. It is a fastpaced and rewarding area with strong regional and national links.
The Paediatric Psychology Liaison Team provides inpatient support for children, young people and families during admissions, and outpatient assessment and intervention for Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
We have a strong reflective practice culture, including team care spaces, CPD, case discussions, peer supervision and safeguarding supervision. Training opportunities include EMDR, ACT for Physical Health and Systemic practice, with chances to offer reflective practice to medical and AHP colleagues.
* Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an MS Teams session to hear more about the service and the role, with an opportunity for Q & A * Main duties of the jobThe current vacancy will be split between specialist Paediatric services including Haemoglobinopathies, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Paediatric Liaison, but will also involve working more directly with some other medical specialties within the Children's Hospital.
The post offers an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team of Psychologists working in conjunction with medical multi-disciplinary teams, providing psychological assessment and interventions to children, young people and families who are living with complex and long-term health needs.
The post also involves providing consultation and liaison to staff at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and other Community and Mental Health professionals. Other duties include teaching and training, research and quality improvement activities.
