The Associate will be supporting the London Power and Renewables Investments and development team within GE Vernova Financial Services. They will support sourcing analyzing and closing financial transactions by conducting due diligence and financial modelling. They will also have opportunities to advance strategic initiatives and project development spanning the GE Vernova portfolio of energy transition technologies such as wind electrification small modular nuclear direct air capture and more.
Essential Responsibilities :
Analyze and/or develop financial models and projections. Prepare detailed financial models and developing and running sensitivity analyses on market technical financing taxation and other drivers.
Assist the team with preparation of financial proposals to customers to accompany technical and commercial offers being submitted
Conduct industry/company research including risk valuation analysis for projects and companies
Assist the team with running a competitive process to select most appropriate financial institution to support a specific transaction
Execute due diligence and underwriting of large and complex energy project finance investments including review of legal documentation and consultant reports such as market studies and independent engineer reports.
Assist in preparing approval requests and other supporting documentation for internal approval process and internal reports.
Maintain deal management information systems.
Develop and execute operational improvement projects.
Protect and realize the value of portfolio investments through monitoring key performance indicators evaluating project modifications/restructurings and executing asset sales. Support the team by providing performance analytics on historical and targeted deal closings and to support the development of efficient analytical tools.
Handle projects to ensure administrative compliance with deal terms and establish implement and monitor reporting metrics for Operations.
Possess good understanding of procedures and concepts within own subject area.
Support GE Vernova strategic initiatives special projects and new business development opportunities.
Qualifications/Requirements :
Bachelors Degree with some experience of working in a financial services environment or equivalent knowledge or experience;
Understanding of financial statements and basic accounting;
Good oral and written communication skills at all levels; collaborative;
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
Legal authorization to work in the UK. GE will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job.
Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting or Economics;
MBA degree or equivalent knowledge or experience
Familiarity with commercial financial loan and equity products
Exposure to Energy Industry;
Skilled communicator who is able to exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical way;
Excellent written oral and interpersonal skills;
Given the global nature of the business additional language would be an advantage (French German Italian)
