Job description

About School of Coding & AI

Established in 2017, School of Coding & AI is now one of the UK’s leading providers of Coding and Computer Science education. We work with over 150 schools, colleges and businesses, and support thousands of children and adults every month across STEM, Coding, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Business.

We have recently partnered with a number of universities to launch our first Higher Education Institute. Our goal is simple. Deliver high quality, career focused education that gives learners a genuine edge.

We are a growing, ambitious organisation. We value people who are proactive, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast paced environment where new ideas are encouraged.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about engaging learners and creating a supportive, high impact learning environment. Our most important value is student first always, so we are looking for someone whose teaching style and approach to learning are fully aligned with that.

About the role

You would be joining at an important stage in our growth, with real scope to shape how Games Design is delivered.

As a Games Design Lecturer, you will:

  • Teach Games Design modules to Higher Education learners
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive sessions that develop both technical ability and creative thinking
  • Design, review and update learning materials and assessments in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements
  • Deliver practical teaching across core games design and development areas, including digital graphics, animation and interactive design
  • Support learners in building industry relevant skills using tools such as Maya, Substance Painter and Unreal Engine
  • Set, mark and moderate assignments, providing clear and constructive feedback to support progression
  • Support students with both academic and pastoral needs, helping them to stay on track and build confidence
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement
  • Contribute to quality assurance, course reviews and standardisation activities
  • Work with colleagues and external partners so that the curriculum reflects current industry practice and emerging trends in games design
  • There may be occasional evening or weekend activity for events or open days, agreed in advance
