What Schools Are Looking For
Qualifications and experience are valuable, but schools consistently tell me they're equally looking for people who:
- Build positive relationships with young people
- Bring patience, resilience and consistency every day
- Work well as part of a wider team
- Stay calm when faced with challenging situations
- Believe every pupil deserves the opportunity to succeed
Many successful educators come from mainstream education, youth work, residential care, coaching or mentoring backgrounds.
