Job description

Senior Day Coach (Senior Residential Support Worker) - Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Home

Job Title: Senior Coach (Senior Residential Support Worker)
Location: Ninfield

About The Role:

We are seeking passionate and resilient Senior Coaches (Senior Residential Support Workers) to join our Ofsted Registered Children's Residential Homes in Ninfield.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who have experienced trauma, instability and adversity, helping them to build safe, stable and ambitious futures. As a Senior Coach, you will lead practice on shift, support less experienced staff and help maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and behaviour management within the home.

You will work closely with Team Leaders and management to create a stable, nurturing and structured environment where young people feel safe, understood and supported to achieve positive outcomes.

Our home is a 4 bed children's residential home supporting young people aged 10 to 16 with profound Learning Disabilities and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and challenging behaviours. Some young people may be non-verbal or low verbal and use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or AAC devices. Our young people in this home benefit from calm, patient and consistent adults who are able to build trusting relationships and provide structured support. Adults must be able to remain emotionally resilient and responsive during periods of dysregulation, using calm and therapeutic approaches to support positive outcomes and maintain safety.

At SuperCare, we are committed to delivering only outstanding care. Our approach is progressive, therapeutic and grounded in understanding behaviour, relationships and development.

Our culture is shaped by our core values:

  • We are outstanding

  • We seek to understand

  • We will do whatever it takes

  • We inspect and don't expect

  • We are radically honest

  • We never give up

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Coach you will:

  • Lead practice on shift, supporting the Team Leader to maintain safe and consistent care delivery

  • Support and guide Coaches during shifts, promoting accountability and high standards of care

  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments and PBS strategies are consistently followed

  • Respond appropriately to incidents and escalate concerns in line with safeguarding procedures

  • Support young people with emotional regulation, behaviour management and daily routines

  • Build trusting, professional and therapeutic relationships with young people

  • Act as a key worker, supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes

  • Contribute to care planning, reviews and outcome tracking

  • Support engagement in education, routines and meaningful activities

  • Maintain accurate records, incident reports and regulatory documentation

  • Promote trauma informed, child centred and therapeutic care approaches

  • Contribute to reflective practice, team meetings and staff development

  • Maintain a safe, clean and homely environment within the home

  • Administer medication safely in line with training and policy

  • Work flexibly across different homes within the service where required

About You:

We are looking for individuals who combine strong practice leadership with compassion, resilience and emotional intelligence. You will have:

  • Experience working with children and young people

  • Previous experience within residential childcare or a similar care setting

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of professional boundaries

  • The ability to remain calm, regulated and solution focused under pressure

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A trauma informed and child centred approach to care

  • The ability to support and guide less experienced staff

  • A commitment to delivering outstanding care and outcomes for young people

  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary package

  • Extensive training and development opportunities

  • Fully funded Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications

  • Performance related bonus scheme

  • Private healthcare

  • 24/7 GP access

  • Gym membership contribution

  • Extensive training and CPD opportunities

  • Leadership mentoring and internal progression pathways

  • Pension scheme

  • Supportive team culture focused on development and wellbeing
